:D I've been waiting for a block of free time to read this, and it was well worth the wait! I loved the steampunk horror aspects and details the most, how we watched Tosh slowly deteriorate, the machine taking her over in counterpoint to what was happening to Ianto (and what he thought was happening). I liked the hopelessness of the original ending, because it was gutting, and I liked the very Torchwood ending of the alternate, because there's always fun in figuring out how on Earth you can reset this massive of an event.
