Prop 8 was struck down here in California this afternoon. Of course, it's going to go on to the Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court, but hey, at least it got off to an okay start. I had to write this drabble when I heard the news. Word count: 100.
Justin glanced over at Brian from where he sat on the computer. He had been working on his thesis for school when his newsfeed pinged at him. Reading it, he couldn't stop smiling.

"Brian!" he gushed excitedly. "Brian."
"What?" Brian looked up from the couch, where he was reading his advance copy of GQ.
"Remember Prop 8? That anti-gay marriage law in California?"
"Yeah, of course, they bitched about it forever."
"The judge just struck it down. It's legal there, at least for now."
Brian smiled then, something in his expression soft and bright. "Another good hit for the queers."
