Heartbreaking! Jack has suffered so much, while the Doctor seems to dismiss his suffering as inconsequential simpy because Jack doesn't stay dead. He finally gets home only to be run ragged and killed by Hart, and he's still recovering from a year of deprivation and torture.

But he's safe now and Ianto will look after him, with gentle compassion. There is hope now, even though Jack still feels so wretched.
